Animal Control Officer

Stafford Township is now accepting employment applications for the position of per-diem Animal Control Officer.  Animal Control Officers are responsible for enforcing animal cruelty laws, local ordinances, and licensing requirements.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Be a citizen of the U.S. or a naturalized citizen of the U.S.
  • Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Have a valid NJ driver’s license.
  • May not have been convicted by any state or by the federal government of any crime for which punishment in this state would be considered a felony.  
  • Must possess a valid  animal control officer certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services 

Per-diem employees start at approximately $14.00 per hour.  Per-diem employees will be scheduled on an as needed basis and may be expected to be on-call.
