Stafford Township's Mayor

Mayor John McMenamin

John and his wife, Michelle, moved to Manahawkin 25 years ago to start their family. Since then, John has been employed by Beach Haven Public Works, Acme Markets, the United States Army and the Stafford Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. In his 21 year career with the Stafford Police, John received numerous awards including the Stafford Township Police Officer of the Year in 2000 and was active in numerous community outreach activities including Kops and Kids and Project Graduation. In addition to his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, John has earned a Master’s degree in Administrative Science with studies in finance, budgeting, personnel management and grant writing.
Michelle is a physics teacher at SRHS where she received the NHS Teacher of the Year award in 2005. Additionally, John and Michelle have owned several local businesses. Throughout the years, their three children have kept them busy at PTA meetings and as Little League coaches. John’s parents are retired and have been residents of Manahawkin for 27 years.
