About Our Water

The Water We Drink

June 1, 2009

Dear Resident;
It is my pleasure to provide the Annual Drinking Water Quality Reports to you on behalf of the Stafford Township Water and Sewer Utility Department. All water purveyors, including Stafford Township, are required by state and federal law to issue annual reports to our water customers concerning the quality of the water that is distributed and ultimately consumed by our customers through our water system. We are very pleased and proud of the fact that our drinking water meets all state and federal safety requirements. As required by law, on the linked reports you will see a detailed listing of all test results including any minute or trace levels of any of the contaminants that we are required to test for under the state and federal guidelines. It should be pointed out and emphasized, however, that none of the test results for any of these trace amounts exceed any of the testing parameters set forth in state and federal regulations. For example, the test results may reflect a very small amount of inorganic contaminants such as copper, which likely comes from corrosion of household plumbing throughout the water system. None of these contaminants pose any type of harmful risk to any of our customers at the levels detected.
As you will see from the linked reports, all of the township’s water supply comes from very deep wells located in the very deep Kirkwood Aquifer, Cohancey Aquifer, or the Atlantic City Aquifer.
If at anytime you have any questions concerning the quality of the water you or your family is consuming, please feel free to contact our office at 609-597-1000 extension 8559 OR 8515.

Sincerely,

Paul J. Shives,
Township Administrator and
Director of the Water/Sewer Utility Dept.
