Stafford Township, NJ - On August 9th, 2025 at approximately 2:00 AM , Patrolman Nicholas Fabrizzio observed a black Volkswagen Golf GTI traveling westbound on the Causeway bridge at a high rate of speed. Patrolman Justin Barbuto attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on the Volkswagen on Route 72 near Mill Creek Road. The driver refused to stop and was observed traveling 129 mph near Jennings Road.  Investigation led to the identification of the driver, 21 year old Andres N. Ortiz Jr. of Atlantis Avenue in Manahawkin, who was placed under arrest for Eluding (2C:29-2B). Ortiz was released on a complaint summons to appear in Ocean County Superior Court and was issued multiple traffic citations. Patrolman Justin Barbuto was the arresting officer.
