Arrest Made on Shoplifting Warrant for $1100 Theft

Stafford Township, NJ – On October 28, 2024, at approximately 11:00  AM,  Dick’s Sporting Goods reported a shoplifter had fled the store with approximately $1100 of stolen merchandise. Investigation revealed that Toronzo Williams (52 years old of Rolling Meadows Road in Middletown, NY) was the suspect and a criminal complaint warrant was issued on November 11th for his arrest.  On November 14th, Toronzo was placed under arrest by East Hanover Township Police.  He was transported to Stafford Township Police Headquarters where he was processed for the Shoplifting 2C:20-11 charge and was then transported to Ocean County Jail pending an appearance in Ocean County Superior Court. Officer Zac Halliday was the investigating officer.

As a reminder, the Stafford Township Police Department does not release arrest photos of defendants. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
