Stafford Township, NJ - As a result of an investigation conducted by Detective Jacob Conner of the Stafford Township Police Department into complaints made by three different victims, 29 year old Robert Sprague Jr. of West Creek, NJ, was charged on January 16th with three counts of Failing to Register as a Contractor (56:8-138), two counts of 3rd degree Theft by Deception (2C:20-4), and one count of 4th degree Theft by Deception (2C:20-4). All charges were issued on complaints summonses with a court date to be scheduled by the Ocean County Superior Court.
Sprague is being accused of taking several thousand dollars in deposits and giving the false perception that the money was to be used for purchasing construction materials. Sprague was operating a business called Rob’s Platinum Home Service and he was not properly licensed as a Home Improvement Contractor by the New Jersey Department of Consumer Affairs.
