Stafford Township, NJ – On November 23, 2024 at approximately 11:30 P.M., a structure fire was reported at 285 Schooner Avenue in Ocean Acres. Upon police arrival, the rear portion of the residence and the deck were engulfed in flames. Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. Immediate neighboring residences were evacuated for precautionary purposes and Breakers Drive was temporarily closed to through traffic. Stafford Township Volunteer EMS arrived on scene and no injuries were reported. Stafford Township Fire Prevention officials responded as well. The investigation as to what caused the fire is ongoing; however, it does not appear to be suspicious in nature at this time. The American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the residents.
