Thursday January 26th at 0659, the Stafford Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Route 9 near Julian Court in the Cedar Run section of town.  A 2008 Jeep Wrangler operated by Daniel Wright, 54 of Cedar Run was traveling south on Route 9.  Wright diverted his attention away from the road for a brief moment.  During this time Wright's vehicle left the roadway and contacted a utility pole. 

Wright suffered a serious wrist injury and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment.  The utility pole which was contacted had snapped causing power lines to obstruct vehicular traffic on Route 9 until utility crews could assemble.  Wright was issued a summons for Careless Driving pending a future court appearance in municipal court. 

Some traffic was able to be diverted around the scene during the investigation.  Officer Justin Pascale is investigating.  He was assisted by Patrolman Luna, Stanziano, Eiker and Povloski.
